Thankful Setbacks

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks…

Boy am I Thankful! I feel blessed to be a small business owner for over 13 years now. However, many of my biggest successes are owed to a few of my previous corporate work and schooling experiences. And not necessarily in the way one might think…

Many of us have been in the position of feeling unsupported ~lack of empathy~ by our managers, boss and/or leaders. It can be overwhelming, enough to convince ourselves we are crazy. However, you are not!…it happens. Our leaders can shift goals, betray confidence, engage in negative politics, lack integrity, and avoid clear expectations and communication.

Here is where I owe my thanks…

Thanks to similar personal experiences by ‘leaders’, I was able to first observe what it was I did not want for myself, or the people working with me, that ultimately led me to the clarity of what I DID want, and what I wanted to create for those working with me; a supportive, fun, cohesive & co-creative environment. In my business I have an open door policy. I am open to any and all conversations with those that work with me. It is always held with confidence and high support. I believe in clear communication in both directions and strive to do what’s possible to help them and/or meet them in the middle. I am proud of my team and the environment we have co-created together. Daily I am constantly learning how to be a better supporter and business owner. Communication from my trainers is always appreciated; positive, negative, indifferent. It is all relevant and important to the growth as a whole. My business is only as successful as my least empowered trainer.

So, I am filled with appreciation to all my predecessors who once left me feeling unimportant and unsupported. Thank you ~ my life is richer than I ever could have imagined! I can only hope they have gained equal growth from their choices and their lives are richer too!

Big love. ♥
